
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the most prestigious division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 to 2020. [8][98][9] Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. There, she made her professional debut and helped the team win the league championship. Morgan was only 22 at the time, making her the youngest player on the national team for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final match during the 2012 London Olympics. She ended 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists and was able to join Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and record 20 assists within the same calendar year and making her the sixth youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year, Morgan was also selected as a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan was instrumental in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
